stonefruit

This sector of horticulture encompasses many fruits that feature edible pulp surrounding a hard “stone”, that in itself protects a seed. Generally Stonefruit refers to fruit such as Cherries, Peaches, Plums, Nectarines and Apricots.

For commercial growers Summerfruit NZ is the association that you need to contact for all things stonefruit. Tests have been carried out recently in New Zealand for the control of Monolinia and Botrytis. Further tests are going to be carried out in the 2024 season.
