A trial was carried out in California, USA on Almonds to control the disease Brownrot (Monolinia Laxa) (2011 & 2012). Zen-O-Spore was the US trade name at the time.

Two trials were carried out by Plant & Food Research NZ in Hastings on Apples to control the diseases Venturia and Elsinoe (2006 and 2009).

BOTRY-ZEN®

A trial is being carried out by Plant & Food Research NZ (on behalf of the Avocado Association) in the 2021 to 2022 seasons. BOTRY-Zen is one of the products being used in the trial. The trials were established for the control of post harvest rots (like Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Colletotrichum acutatum complexes; as well as Neofusicoccum parvum, Botryosphaeria dothidea and Diaporthe spp).
Results of the first year out soon.

BOTRY-ZEN® and ARMOur-zen®

In NZ a trial was carried out in 2004-05 by Plant & Food Research to control post-harvest storage rot. Treatments included BOTRY-Zen during flowering and ARMOUR-Zen during fruit development.


BOTRY-ZEN®

In NZ, Plant Wise and Berry Co. are running a three year trial, which started in the 2021 season, to control Botrytis cinerea in seven Blueberry orchards. Preliminary results so far show a favourable response from BOTRY-Zen applications.


BOTRY-ZEN®WP

In NZ this season (2022) we are entering a Blueberry trial with Zonda who will use bumble bees to vector BOTRY-Zen WP during flowering.

This trial was carried out at the Clyde Research Centre, Central Otago, in New Zealand for the control of Botrytis cinerea (2015).

BOTRY-ZEN®WP

Three growers in Otago, New Zealand have had successful control of rust using BOTRY-Zen. This required early applications of the product when shoots appeared.


 

GINSENG

BOTRY-ZEN®

Trial work in South Korea in 2014, showed that BOTRY-Zen had good efficacy against Botrytis cinerea in Ginseng.


 

LENTILS

ARMOUR-ZEN®

SAARDI from South Australia carried out a trial on Lentils with the results concluding that there was a strong variety effect on the effectiveness of treatments to control Botrytis, but there is also a high variability between treatments which may be attributed to plant growth. However, ARMOUR-Zen® has the potential to control Botrytis cinerea (2011).

BOTRY-ZEN®

Trialled in Korea for control in Sclerotinia Rot on lettuces. (2014).


Added into a trial in 2014-15 to control the Sclerotinia diseases. Was best against Sclerotinia minor under the label ENA 1410.

Trialled in California for Downy Mildew on Lettuces at three trial sites (2013).

Trialled in Korea for Sclerotinia Rot in onions.


 

RASPBERRIES

BOTRY-ZEN®

A trial was carried out in California in 2013 on Raspberries against the diseases Botrytis cinerea and Rhizopus. Zen-O-Spore was the US trade name at the time.


A further trial was carried out in California, USA on Raspberries against the diseases Botrytis cinerea, Rhizopus and Aspergillus (2013). Zen-O-Spore was the US trade name at the time.


ARMOUR-ZEN®

In Outram, NZ a grower applied ARMOUR-Zen late in the season, near harvest, when Botrytis cinerea was evident. The grower observed a marked reduction in disease and was able to harvest the majority of fruit (2013).


 

STRAWBERRIES

BOTRY-ZEN® AND ARMOUR-ZEN®

Both products were trialled at the Florida annual strawberry trial for the control of Botrytis cinerea (2014-15). This was carried out by the University of Florida. Zen-O-Spore was the US trade name at the time for BOTRY-Zen. Silwet was used as a surfactant with both products, which in the 2015-16 trial (two trials below), by itself, rediuced yields.


BOTRY-ZEN®

BOTRY-Zen was trialled in California, USA for the control of Botrytis cinerea on Strawberries (2012). Zen-O-Spore was the US trade name at the time for BOTRY-Zen.


BOTRY-Zen was again added into the Florida annual strawberry trial for the control of Botrytis cinerea (2015-2016). Again carried out by the University of Florida. Zen-O-Spore was still the US trade name at the time for BOTRY-Zen. It was interesting to note that Silwet and Milstop (surfactants) reduced yields.


In 2015-16 Zen-O-Spore (USA trade name for BOTRY-Zen) was also trialled by Florida Ag Research in Florida to control the disease Botrytis cinerea.


A trial was carried in NZ in 2018 for the control of Botrytis cinerea.

BOTRY-ZEN®

BOTRY-Zen was trialled in California, USA IN 2012 on Apricots to control Brown Rot. Zen-O-Spore was the US trade name at the time for BOTRY-Zen.


 

TOMATOES

BOTRY-ZEN® AND ARMOUR-ZEN®

A variety of treatments were trialled in Hawkes Bay, NZ in 2004-2005 to control the diseases Botrytis cinerea, Sclerotinia and Alternaria.


BOTRY-ZEN®

Trialed in New York in 2017 against Leaf Mold. In the report BA 165N was used as the description for BotryStop® (US tradename for BOTRY-Zen)


ARMOUR-ZEN®

Trialed in Turkey jn 2017 to control the disease Botrytis cinerea.


Studied at the University of West Indies in 2016, under trial conditions to control the diseases Alternaria and Xanthomonas. And at the same time investigated and proved its ability to be a Plant Elicitor (ie: the promotion of plant defence and plant growth).


Trialled in the USA in 2013 to control the disease Powdery Mildew.


MIDI-ZEN®

Trialed in the Netherlands in 2015 to control the disease Powdery Mildew. The product is termed SBO in the report.

Vegetables NZ along with A Lighter Touch are carrying out a three year trial on Beans, and so far our product BOTRY-Zen has provided pleasing results.
